Governor to Improve Food Security - kenyadetails

ISIOLO Governor Godana Doyo on Saturday pledged to pump billions into the Agricultural sector to stop dependence on relief food. Doyo said his government will introduce modern farming methods and promote large scale agriculture.


He asked residents to change their mind set adding that they have enough land and water for farming. The governor was speaking to leaders and heads of government departments in Isiolo during a cooperative day forum at the Cooperative Building.

He said his government will source for more funds to address the budget Sh600 million deficit for its 2013-14 financial year. Doyo said his office has secured Sh2.6 billion out of the estimated Sh3.2 billion county budget which will be used for infrastructure development and large scale irrigation in the county.
