The Trans Nzoia county administration has approved a Sh351 million budget for the health sector. The assembly approved Sh115 million for the construction and equipping of accident and emergency unit at Kitale district hospital while Sh28 million will be used to drugs and non-pharmaceutical

products. Sh57 million will be used to install a CT scanner and Sh40 million for the purchase of five ambulances.

The equipping of theatres, X-ray and laboratories will cost Sh86 million, while the procurement and installation of an oxygen plant will cost Sh11 million and Sh6million fir a standby generator. Another Sh11 million will be used to purchase 12 mortuary cooling units.
