The World Bank predicts that Kenya’s economic growth will remain moderate in the face of a flat global growth prospect.
In its global economic prospects released last week, the World Bank forecasts that Kenya’s GDP will peak at 4.9 per cent this year, way below its peers in the sub-Saharan Africa region.

All eyes are on utility company Kenya Power as it compiles electricity bills for this month, with consumers expecting lower bills given the falling prices of fuel, low inflation, and a stable foreign exchange rate.
Further, increased rainfall in parts of the country in the past few weeks has increased opportunities for cheaper hydro-generated power as opposed to the more expensive thermal power.

Tomorrow, Gospel singer SK Blue will launch an SMS service for his company, Sakata Media. Dubbed Sakata Mobi, it is working as a premium rate service provider that provides recorded information for subscribers of a network or live conversation for callers.
These services will be channelled through SMS short codes or special numbers leased by network operators to PRS providers.They can also be used for short-term promotions or campaigns.

Co-Operative Bank Signs Sh5 Billion Deal to Boost SMEs

Cooperative Bank has signed a Sh5.1 billion ($61 million) loan agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to increase its credit to Small and Medium Enterprises in the country.
The bank’s Managing Director Gideon Muriuki said the loan which has a tenure of seven years will also be used to support agriculture projects.
