Members of Parliament have proposed a Sh2billion boost for the National Oil Corporation (Nock), for it to expand its retail business and shield Kenyans from exploitation by cartels in the petroleum industry.

Motorists have a reason to smile at least for the next one month after National Oil reduced its pump prices.
The firm has reduced the fuel price of Super Petrol by Sh2 to retail at Sh119.10 and Diesel by Sh1 to retail at Sh107.40 for Nairobi consumers. Prices for other towns have been adjusted accordingly.

Kenya’s pursuit for cheaper power is beckoning with US$ 6.8 billion Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) project expected in the second quarter of 2016.
Phylip Leferink, General Manager of the project said he is pleased with the advancement in the haulage of turbines to the site from the port of Mombasa and between May and June the firm will be set to add more power to the national grid.
He stated once the transmission lines are ready, the project may start a month in advance .“We have installed more than 200 turbines in the past six months, out of the wind 365 turbines required on completion,” he said.

leading construction works at Kipeto wind power project in Kenya complete

The major construction activities at the Kipeto Wind power project located at Esilanke area on the foothills of Ngong Hills in Kajiado county of Kenya has been completed following the completion of the installation of all the 60 wind power turbine generators by the US multinational General Electric (GE).

POWER & ENERGY and SOLAR AFRICA, East Africa’s largest exhibition taking place on 11 - 13 April at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi, Kenya; 12 – 14 May at the Millenium Hall in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; 12 - 14 July at the Kigali Convention Center in Kigali, Rwanda and 16 - 18 August at the Mlimani City Conference Centre in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
